The SHARE (Supporting Holistic & Actionable Research in Education) program was a five-year (2020–2025) cooperative agreement between USAID and the University of Notre Dame. Its primary objective was to advance USAID’s global education learning priorities by improving learning outcomes worldwide. The initiative is implemented in collaboration with local higher education and research institutions across partner countries. SHARE aimed at producing high-quality, actionable evidence to inform education policy and practice. It involved conducting targeted, primary research designed to address specific learning questions.
RAN’s involvement in the SHARE program spans beyond being a convener of university partners on the African continent to conduct research on education programs, but also involved doing project management and providing technical capacity in the conduct of in a suit of studies to address USAID’s education priorities. RAN also contributed towards developing of and updated learning agenda document for USAID in 2024.
A key feature of SHARE was an emphasis on local collaboration, ownership and capacity exchange. The studies under this program were conducted jointly with in-country universities and research organizations which provided opportunity to combine contextual expertise with mentorship/capacity building.

- Uganda Non-State School Assessment (NSSA): It assessed the quality and level of access to non-state, pre-primary, and primary schools.
